JASON MITTLEMAN has worked as a writer, producer and script coordinator across both television and film. In 2023, Jason’s original comedy pilot Togetherland was named a semi-finalist in the CineStory TV Writing Fellowship Contest. In 2022, Jason worked on the Victor Fresco and Rob Lowe created Netflix comedy series Unstable and his action/comedy feature script Code Name: Dad was optioned for development by Hideout Pictures. In 2021, Jason adapted the book Best. Night. Ever. as a half-hour YA comedy pilot for Netflix. In 2020, Jason's pilot Targeted Individuals was optioned for development by MM Productions, with Betty Thomas attached as director, and Jason wrote and directed the independent pilot for Binged, a digital comedy about binge-watching culture. Before that, Jason worked as a writer and producer on MTV’s Ridiculousness, and as a script coordinator and writers’ assistant on ABC’s The Goldbergs and Netflix’s Atypical. Jason’s feature comedy White People Buying Houses was voted to the 2019 Hit List, honoring the best unproduced spec scripts of the year, and his digital comedy videos BreakBad Mountain, Everyone Poops - The Romcom and One Ball have generated hundreds of thousands of views online. Jason plays bass, guitar and sings, and his bands Adios Cowboy and Corsica Arts Club have recorded multiple albums that have been featured on KROQ and KCRW, performed at The Roxy, The Whiskey, Los Globos and the CMJ Music Festival, and collaborated with Tommy Wiseau, (legendary?) director of The Room on a music video. In high school, he very unexpectedly played varsity water polo. Jason also serves as a mentor for the Young Storytellers Foundation and you can read about his experience here.
